God is moving
Five months ago theGATHERING went through a series called Urgent Church. Acts 2, AD30 Church was effective because they were taught disciple-making from Jesus. The DNA of disciple-maker, then, comes from THE disciple-maker. It's apart of our DNA to Evangelize, Establish, Equip, and Extend. WE heard from people who had been living the mission, both in DFW and in the remote parts of the earth. You can see the notes from our time together here.
Flash forward five months, and we're celebrating how God has been moving!
-Do you realize how many people have passed from death to life over the past five months as y'all have determined to be disciple-makers?
-Do you realize how many people have not only believed, but began being established in their faith through baptism and inductive Bible study?
-More and more people are waking up to the reality that we are to do life together through community groups and mentoring relationships; mobilized throughout DFW for the sake of transforming lives for Jesus.
YET, the biggest win is when it blooms into the maturity of being EXTENDED--challenged and sent to the nations.
Twenty-five of you are going to be spending at least 2% of your year in another context, committing to going to the nations with the Gospel! {This is where you raise your fist in the air and give a fist pump!}
If you're not going, this go around at least, there will be many more trips and many more opportunities for you to let the disciple-making DNA really run it's course through your veins. As it is said all of the time, "GO, SEND, or DISOBEY." You have this opportunity to support your fellow missionaries.As Charles Spurgeon said,
"Every Christian is a missionary or an impostor."
Would you consider supporting those from within your community both prayerfully and financially? Through supporting them, you're playing a vital part in the work of the gospel, establishing churches overseas to go through the evangelize, establish, equip, and extend process with the natives!
We'll be praying for our folks throughout the months to come... there will be prayer updates, blog posts, pictures, and everything else to cast the vision to you. At the connection desk there is already a list of items you can bring to hand out to the kiddos!
We're thankful for what the Lord has done, but we're asking for more and more lives transformed by Jesus so that we fulfill this mission of disciple-makers making disciples!!! It's all about seeing lives transformed by Jesus!
