Radical : 2%

We're at the end of the fourth month of the Radical Experiment. The author, David Platt, even came to address our church family.

How are y'all doing? Leviticus is down, as is Deuteronomy! Are you keeping up, a little behind, or have you given up altogether? As with all things, the Gospel is what must motivate you through these commitments! For example, the love of God found in the cross and the righteousness that is yours in Christ is what must motivate your prayers for the world. You pray for the world because Jesus' mission was for the gospel to spread to all nations.

It is with great pleasure that I, Luca, highlight some of the individuals that are in need of your prayers and help with their Radical Experiment. One vital commitment of the Experiment is to spend at least 2% of 2011 in a foreign context. Our bro, Paul, has already spent some time in Egypt. Our skype conversation at theGATHERING was pretty awesome!

Liz is spending her time in Sierra Leone with Mercy Ships You can view updates on her blog here.  Others of you have taken advantage of opportunities with First Euless Missions, while still more of you are taking advantage of long term opportunities over the Summer. The gospel compels us to go. As we see what happens over there, we're more motivated to live the gospel-mission over here for the sake of people over there.

Over the next few weeks, I'd like to take some time to highlight some of these endeavors so that 1). we can pray as a faith family for these individuals; and, 2.) so that you all can prayerfully fund what the Lord is going to do through them

Remember, the Great Comission is not an option, but a mandate. Every believer has a clear choice of obedience: Go, Send, or Disobey.

  • Holly S. will be in Malawi May 14-24. Then she will catch a flight to Tanzania, where Matthew M. will join up with her.
  • Luca will be going on a church planting trip to a S. E. Asian country in May.
  • Joe M. will be training pastors in Greece May 21 -31
  • Daniel L. and Traci K. will be going to Romania from June 14-22nd.

Over the next few weeks, we're going to highlight specific prayer points for each of these trips and each of these team leaders. Many of them are still in need of financial assistance, so we'll be sure to give you an opportunity to be apart of what God is doing in the nations through them.

Pray to the Lord of the Harvest! The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.
